Young Margaret Thatcher costumes from The Iron Lady...

With all the excitement surrounding the London 2012 Olympics, I thought it only proper to have some right British costumes on display.

Here's two of the original costumes worn by the 'Young Margaret' played by Alexandra Roach in the 2011 biopic of infamous female British Prime Minister and leader of the Conservative Party, 'Margaret Thatcher' in The Iron Lady.

Whilst Meryl Streep may have won an Oscar for her portrayal of an older and aging Margaret Thatcher, Alexandra Roach gave an equally impressive performance as a young, unmarried 'Margaret Roberts' at the start of her early political career.

These very businesslike outfits were designed by Consolota Boyle, whose work can also be seen in The Queen and Angela's Ashes amongst many other movies.

Robert Downey Jr. and Diane Lane movie costumes from Chaplin on display...

In Richard Attenborough's 1992 biopic Chaplin, Robert Downey Jr. played the titular funny man from the silent film era. On a recent visit to The London Film Museum on May 15, 2012 I photographed this selection of original costumes featured in the movie.

Included in the special exhibit of the influential and iconic film star was this magnificent 'Bird costume' from the 'Gold Rush' scene in Chaplin, along with another outfit worn by Robert Downey Jr. in the role.

Ellen Mirojnick and John Mollo are credited with the Costume Design on the biopic.

In addition to the movie memorabilia from Chaplin, the exhibit also had this original hat and cane used by Charlie Chaplin on loan from the British Film Institute.

In addition to the 'Bird costume' they also had a version of Chaplin's trademark 'Tramp' outfit worn by Robert Downey Jr. and a costume worn by Diane Lane as young Hollywood actress, co-star and Chaplin's third wife, 'Paulette Goddard'.

Camo Tumbler from The Dark Knight Rises on display...

In The Dark Knight Rises we discover that Morgan Freeman's 'Lucius Fox' has been gathering all the top secret Wayne Enterprises vehicles and gadgets that helped transform 'Bruce Wayne' into 'Batman' and supplied him with his arsenal of high-tech weapons.

In this third installment in Christopher Nolan's epic Dark Knight trilogy Batman's adversary 'Bane' discovers this stash, including several camouflaged versions of the Tumbler 'Batmobile'.

This 2.5-ton Camo Tumbler was photographed on display outside ArcLight Hollywood cinema as part of a national publicity tour across America for the new movie.

Seeing the Tumbler in person, I was surprised at how small and low to the ground it seemed. I think I was expecting something a bit more imposing tank-like, although seeing the detail of the formidable vehicle up close is still pretty cool regardless.

Christian Bale's Batman suit from The Dark Knight Rises...

On Friday 20 July I was fortunate enough to get up close and personal with Christian Bale's Batman costume which was on display in the ArcLight Hollywood cinema foyer for the opening weekend of The Dark Knight Rises.

I battled with the super reflective surface of the display case and a legion of excited Bat-fans to try and get the best photographs of the armored suit to share with you all.

Lindy Hemming has been Costume Designer on all three installments in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, so if you're a fan of the evolving Bat-suit design, be sure to also check out Christian Bale's Bat-suit from Batman Begins and the Batman costume from The Dark Knight on display.

Also on display beside this fantastic Bat-suit was Tom Hardy's Bane movie costume and Anne Hathaway's Catwoman costume to droll over too.
